After World War II, cocoa was extremely scarce. Ferrero, originally from Piedmont in Italy, turned this tricky problem into a smart solution, creating a sweet paste made from hazelnuts, sugar and just a little of the rare cocoa. The ancestor of Nutella was born. They strive to continually improve the responsible sourcing of our raw materials along our supply-chain, enhance the living conditions of farmers and their communities and foster sustainable practices to protect natural resources. They collaborate with partners, NGOs and other institutions to bring this mission to life day by day and carefully select quality ingredients in line with commitment to sustainability, both social and environmental.
